A place for our thoughts

When were numbers this much fun?

We had a great time at the 'Love by Numbers' session with Richard Abbot on 17 Feb.

Richard said something in his introduction that really stuck with me and got me thinking. He recommended that we should all try and build our lives around the best numbers for us as individuals. For example, my destiny number (the number that results from a calculation on my birthdate) is seven. So I should try and bring the number seven into my life as often as I can. This could range from seemingly small things such as booking holidays in the seventh month (July  - lucky me) to larger life choices such as moving to a house which is number seven!

OK, so granted, maybe its not always the most practical thing to be able to do but the general principle is that if you purposefully try to introduce more of your number into your life things will go better for you.

I've tried it this week and it kind of worked. In my work emails I've tried to write seven paragraphs (much to the bafflement of most of my colleagues probably). I parked in space 77 in the staff car park, I used the seventh hot desk in the office and I enjoyed/scoffed seven biscuits on my tea break (which I took at exactly 11.07am).

I had a great week I have to say. It might of been coincidence (as if) but I received an email from HR about an unexpected (admittedly very tiny) payrise - the email from HR was sent at 7.07am - seriously. The computer at the desk I usually sit at - number three (pah!) - went horribly wrong  and by the end of the day the only working machine was mine at hot desk number seven. A big lorry was blocking the road to the car park exit at the end of the day - in my usual space I would have been trapped helplessly at the mercy of the TNT lorry driver but in space 77 I was completely fine as this was at the other end of the car park and I sailed out. There may very well have been a seven in the TNT lorry number plate. OK, I made that bit up.

Small, first world victories in exchange for small first world token gestures to the number seven. Victories none the less though.

Imagine what might happen if I lived my entire life by the number seven....

Very much enjoyed reading this. Will share with a friend who is also a number 7 and who has now become interested in numerology since I told her about the talk :-)
